The release of a good cookbook is something to be celebrated, and Edinburgh Author Caroline Eden’s fantastic new book, Black Sea, is no exception. This book is a biography of this fascinating region, and its people. A story told through its recipes, beautiful photographs and Caroline’s documenting unprecedented meetings with remarkable individuals and featuring recipes inspired by meals, meetings and literature.
Caroline Eden is a journalist and writer specialising in the former Soviet Union. A regular on BBC Radio 4's 'From Our Own Correspondent', her writing has appeared in the travel, food and arts pages of The Guardian, Daily Telegraph and Financial Times. Her first book, Samarkand, was a Guardian book of the year 2016 and went on to win the Guild of Food Writers Award for best food and travel book in 2017.
To celebrate the launch of this fascinating book, we have invited Edinburgh based author Caroline, to guide us through some of the recipes that she feels might be most appropriate for a brunch. So, taking inspiration from the book, the EFS Kitchen team will prepare a delicious selection of plates, which will be available to buy as a set, at £30 per person.
Caroline will also be on hand to guide you through the meal, to answer questions, and tell stories about her book and where the recipes have come from. There will be books available for purchase, and if you’re nice, you might even be so kind as to sign a copy of the book for you!
Black sea brunch is a one off event and will be held on 2 December between 11am and 3pm. Booking is strongly advised and can be done so by clicking the button below.
