A Dinner of Passion and Reason


Edinburgh Food Studio is pleased to celebrate Hume’s birthday in a style befitting one of Edinburgh’s finest sons: an evening eating, drinking, and conversing. Join us for a Dinner of Passion and Reason on the 5th, 6th, 7th May 2016.

Hosted by Dr. Steven Martz (Edinburgh University, Short Courses - https://www.course-bookings.lifelong.ed.ac.uk/courses/PH/philosophy-and-religion/PH124/reason-and-passion/), we’ll digest philosophy and explore food. Ranging from food as art, the artist and the beautiful, to discussions of the embodied self and Hume’s Standard of Taste, our topics will traverse Western philosophy. Each course will compliment and reflect our themes – a feast for the mind and senses, stimulating reason and passion.
