10 Scottish Seaweeds, how to harvest, cook them and why you should do it.


Join Monica Wilde, an expert in wild food, wild medicine and wild booze, as she explores one of Scotland's most under-utilised resources our wild seaweeds. Late winter is the best season to harvest many seaweeds, and in this practical presentation, Monica will explain how to harvest 10 species of easily accessible Scottish seaweed, explaining the properties of each, showing us the best ways of turning them into delicious, healthy food - something to be enjoyed by all the family.

Seaweeds are too often clumped into one, and in this session, Monica will demystify this complex and diverse food group, showing us how to treat each individual ingredient with the respect it deserves. There is so much to learn here. Seaweeds are superfoods, and are freely available to all, learning how to harvest and cook them is an investment. Come along.
